4 Star, Abalone is part of the Shell Lodges collection and is situated at Sievers Point in Hermanus. Sievers Point is considered to be the best land based whale watching area in Hermanus.
Abalone is midway between the town centre and the beaches of Hermanus and abuts onto the cliff path with a green belt of Fynbos between the Lodge and Sievers Point. The Fynbos green belt attracts a vast variety of birds.
Abalone is an unusually artistic guest lodge with exclusive SA artwork incorporated into the décor. The following services are available: Parking, luggage storeroom, Laundry service, safe at reception and baby cots. Children are welcome at Abalone Lodge.
Rooms enjoy either sea, mountain or garden views and all have private balconies or patios and feature tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers, overhead fan, telephones, Television, robes, underfloor heating and heated towel rails. All rooms are serviced daily and are Non-smoking.
Abalone serves a continental and full English breakfast daily. Dinners are available and need to be prebooked with service starting between 19h00 and 19h30. Breakfast is served in the dining room which has superb sea and mountain views. Weather permitting; meals are served on the sea facing patio.
The Lounge at Abalone has a fireplace and both the lounge and the Library/TV Room have magnificent sea views. Complimentary tea and coffee are available throughout the day. Guests are invited for a complimentary drink/aperitif between 18h00 and 19h00.
Abalone has a swimming pool which is protected from the wind. Abalone has a large garden which allows guests the opportunity of relaxing under the large shade trees.
Conference facilities are also available and we cater for small intimate groups.
