Come and enjoy the warm hospitality and tranquil setting of OMAHA Guest Farm, a 10,000+ acre estate at the base of Mt Etjo! OMAHA is conveniently located midway between Okahandja and Otjiwarongo off B1, the primary N:S route between Windhoek and Namibia\'s primary tourism destinations: Etosha & Waterberg National Parks, Damaraland, Bushmanland, Kavango Region and the Caprivi Strip.
Mt Etjo is a unique geological feature of the Namibian landscape, standing 2,086 m above sea level and dating back to the time of Gondwanaland, some 500 million years ago. Mt Etjo’s history is linked to that of the Waterberg Plateau, located some 100 km northwest. Both are capped by the startling red “Etjo sandstone”. Fossil reptiles are found on Mt Etjo dating to over 200 million years ago. Today, it is home to a number of endangered and protected species, including Hartmann’s Mountain Zebra, Damara dik-dik, Klipspringer and Leopard. A very diverse bird fauna with over 250 known species, including waterfowl, is seasonally attracted to OMAHA’s impoundments and gardens.
Daily rates include Dinner, Bed & Breakfast. Dinners feature game and fresh vegetables, prepared in the traditional manner of Namibian farms.
SPECIAL: The OMAHA Estate is now being offered for extended stays, weddings, other special or private occasions, and as a “holiday home”, either self catering or with kitchen & house cleaning staff.
